When a survey was done by a research firm called Indicus Analytics, a few years ago, Kozhikode emerged as one of the best cities in India to live in. This did not come as a surprise to many who have been enjoying their stay in Calicut, known for its cheaper cost of living and offering excellent delicacies of Malabar. The report listed Kozhikode among other great places to reside like Kochi, Kozhikode, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram, Mysore, Goa, Thrissur, Pondicherry, Kannur, and Thiruvalur. The parameters considered while ranking were health, education, environment, safety, public facilities, and entertainment.

Kozhikode is also known as Calicut and is the third largest city in Kerala, after Thiruvananthapuram & Kochi. This former capital of the Malabar district provides a blend of diverse cultures. The city is blessed with beautiful beaches & forests and is also known well for its Ayurvedic heritage. Kozhikode is also recognized for having educational institutions like the IIM and NIT and world-class hospitals like the Apollo Cradle. The UL Cyber Park is another major infrastructure project happening in the City right now.

The city boasts a variety of restaurants, bakeries, temples, museums, book shops, and movie theatres. Mavoor Road is the commercial hub of the city with many new malls and multiplexes coming up. The very famous SM Street also has a lot to offer to every shopper. The Kappad beach, where Vasco Da Gama landed in 1498 is located a few kilometers north of the city. Kozhikode is well connected by roads and railways. The pollution level in Kozhikode is also one of the lowest in the whole country. The city has a lush green cover of trees and is also much cleaner than many other parts of India. The people here are generally friendly and very helpful.
